Asia’s Largest Tensile Roof Provides Functional and Aesthetic Benefits to New Delhi Stadium
The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, India, now features Asia’s largest tensile roof from Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures throughout the world.
As subcontractor to Taiyo Membrane Corporation (TMC), Birdair designed, manufactured and supplied the 88 membrane panels that form the facility’s 54,000 square meter tensile roof that spans over 240 meters. TMC provided the installation and construction supervision of the tensile membrane roof.

MakMax has been awarded the fabric roofing contract for the $144.2 million Gold Coast Stadium Redevelopment at Carrara, Queensland. The Queensland Government led Gold Coast Stadium project is managed by WATPAC and supported by the Commonwealth Government, the Gold Coast City Council and the AFL.
The stadium will boast a PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) glass fibre membrane roof that will span a total of 16,600 square metres providing cover for the East, West and Southern perimeter of the structure.
