Visitors to Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston, West Virginia, are greeted by three fiberglass fabric membrane roof and facade cladding systems from Birdair.
Visitors to Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston, West Virginia are welcomed by three stunning PTFE tensile membrane structures designed and built by Birdair, enhancing the scenic view of the Kanawha River. The project, finalized in 2010, showcased Birdair's expertise through a retractable fabric canopy embellishing the park’s seating area, a uniquely designed steel and PTFE fabric roof mimicking a riverboat paddlewheel for the newly established Schoenbaum Stage, and an additional canopy adorning a newly constructed pavilion overlook area.
The Schoenbaum Stage stands as the main platform for the West Virginia Symphony, accommodating a diverse range of entertainment events. Attendees can enjoy the performances under the shelter of a sizable 35-foot by 80-foot retractable fabric panel. This innovative feature not only provides cover during events but also retracts, offering spectators an unobstructed view of captivating fireworks displays during the City of Charleston’s Friday night concert series.
