82-acre Doral Central Park will Feature New PTFE Tensile Amphitheater by Birdair Team
An investment of about $120 million, construction to build out Doral Central Park has officially begun with multiple phases in the works. Phases two and three are schedule to be completed at the end of 2022 with phase four in 2023. Birdair was recently awarded the contract to design-build a new 10,600 sq.ft. PTFE tensile membrane amphitheater structure as part of the project's phase four plan. The new amphitheater is a great space for residents and visitors to spend time listening to a concert under a Birdair fabric roof. In addition to the new tensile pavilion structure, the park will include a new indoor rec center, multi-use sports fields, lakefront promenade and cultural plaza, nature areas and kayak launch just to name a few. Birdair's scope for the project includes design, fabrication, and installation of the PTFE-coated fiberglass membrane, supporting structural steel front arched truss, all perimeter columns, structural cables and end fittings as well as membrane clamping hardware.
