Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures throughout the world, will exhibit at the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) Expo 2009 Trade Show and Symposium at the San Diego Convention Center, September 23-25, 2009, in San Diego, California.
According to the IFAI’s website, the IFAI Expo is “the largest trade show in the Americas devoted to technical and specialty fabrics.” Birdair’s presence will directly benefit architects interested in learning more about tensile architecture. Specifically, representatives from Birdair will be on hand to discuss recent innovations in fabric membrane roofing design and functionality.
Birdair’s vice president of business development, Kevin Mayer, will offer presentations at two of the event’s educational symposiums and workshops, including “International Achievement Awards––How an Architect/Design Firm Did It” and “LEED Certified Projects and Experiences.”
The “LEED Certified Projects and Experiences” presentation will take place as part of a September 24 educational focus on “Becoming a Sustainable Shading Expert,” designed for industry professionals who are interested in learning how fabrics can harvest solar energy, how fabrics permit light to pass through, and how industry professionals can use fabric technology to generate new business.
“IFAI allows us to personally address the needs of architects looking to learn more about the aesthetic, functional and sustainable benefits of tensile architecture,” explains Michele Roth, marketing manager for Birdair. “We look forward to discussing the variety of ways that fabric membrane can be integrated into the exterior building envelope.”
As a full-service specialty contractor, Birdair offers complete design and engineering assistance and solutions throughout the design-build process, and has completed more than 1,200 tensile architecture installations worldwide.
