Taiyo Europe: Pioneering Excellence, Elevating Velodrome Innovation
In the picturesque town of Aigle, Switzerland, the iconic World Cycling Centre stands as a symbol of excellence in cycling training. Tasked with elevating this hub of athletic prowess, Taiyo Europe GmbH embarked on a remarkable journey to revitalize the facility's essence.
Originally erected in 2002, the World Cycling Centre underwent a transformative makeover as Taiyo Europe GmbH joined forces with the esteemed BGC SA and Tensys engineering firms. Together, this dynamic collaboration seamlessly orchestrated the design, fabrication, and installation of a cutting-edge roof, setting a new standard for architectural ingenuity.
The result? A breathtaking 2-layer PVC air-dome, spanning an impressive 5,000 square meters, now graces the cycling haven. This state-of-the-art structure not only replaced the existing roof but redefined the very essence of the World Cycling Centre. The velodrome now stands as a testament to the harmonious fusion of form and function.
Taiyo Europe, sister company to Birdair, with its unwavering commitment to excellence, has not only preserved the legacy of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) headquarters but has elevated it to unprecedented heights. The velodrome continues to serve as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring athletes, providing an unparalleled training ground for the champions of tomorrow.
