The Paul Bailey Pizzitola Memorial Athletic Facility is Brown University's intercollegiate sports facility. The multi-purpose athletic structure features a Birdair fabric roof, which allows excellent natural light for sporting events. The roof's design consists of crossed truss arches with a PTFE membrane exterior and a 12-foot insulated center layer with a translucent PVC liner. The fabric membrane not only functions as a sustainable building element, but also provides insulation against the wintry Rhode Island weather conditions.
